FAA Approves Part 142 Training Center To Provide Innovative ATP CTP Program

AeroStar Training Services has announced that it has received approval from the FAA for an in-house Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification training program (CTP). The new program officially became a requirement in commercial pilot training in August of last year, and now, any new pilots who wish to achieve their ATP certification will be expected to complete it in order for them to qualify to fly a commercial aircraft.

The AeroStar ATP CTP program was created to give their aviation students a better chance to achieve their goals for a career in commercial aviation. The customized training program was designed to assist them in meeting many of the challenges and overcome obstacles that may get in the way of their becoming safe pilots.

Company representative David Santo says that they have been working in conjunction with the FAA to develop a kind of program that is not only cost effective but can still meet the stringent requirements needed to earn the certification. He says:

"We provide training that meets FAA requirements and more importantly, produces safe pilots who are ready to meet the challenges they will find in the air AND on the ground."

Students who participate in the course will be expected to pass a written exam and spend a portion of their course hours in a flight simulator. After successfully completing these aspects of the program, graduating students will be qualified for type rating and the ATP CTP certifications as well. With these credentials, they'll be considered highly qualified candidates for more positions as pilots.

There is also a 4-day ground school aspect to the training program. Through the ground school, any affiliates or partner institutions that also want to offer this program will be provided with instructors and materials so that students will be able to complete their requirements on site. Santo explains one of the reasons for the development of this new approach to flight training:

"We understand that airlines, flight schools and students need to meet this challenge, so we are doing what we can to provide quality, flexible training programs that meet their needs within time and expense parameters."

He points out that there are some airlines like Lufthansa and Emirates that have already embraced the new school program and have already begun the recruiting process from the pool of students who have been able to meet their qualifications. These types of partnerships between AeroStar, the different airlines, and flight schools make it possible to create customized programs that can meet the challenges that may come up in a constantly changing aviation environment.

The company was formed by a group of experienced pilots dedicated to providing students with state of the art aviation training that would incorporate realistic scenarios for its students. Its goal is to provide excellent flight training for its pilots using the most advanced technology and equipment possible so that students will be better able to handle the challenges that they may have to face as a commercial pilot.

Anyone who might be interested in getting the ATP CTP may contact the company directly for more detailed information and with assistance on whether or not they would be the right fit for this career choice.
